Max Sanders says the City supporters inspired him and his team-mates to a hard-fought draw at Portsmouth on Saturday.
The midfielder explained that the noise from the away end helped the team through the fixture to earn a point at Fratton Park.
He said: “They were brilliant and really loud. It is always a great atmosphere coming here and the support we got from our fans was fantastic and got us over the line.”
The 23-year-old also believes the Imps are reaping the rewards from a thorough pre-season schedule.
He continued: “You saw us digging in right at the end of the game and it shows how fit we are as a team. The lads that came on were superb and that is why we got the point we did.
“Winning second balls is very important, especially in this league. That is what Portsmouth do well with their two big players up front, but I thought we dealt with it well.”
