Mark Kennedy has praised his players’ battling display, as the Imps held Portsmouth to a 0-0 draw at Fratton Park.
Kennedy recognised the resilience of his players during a tightly contested fixture away from home.
He said: “The players were outstanding today, every one of them. Everybody has played their part and it was a very mature performance.
“They stuck together and it was a brilliant team performance. Everyone has trained properly and that is why when you are called upon, you can go and do yourself justice.
“I have got to give a lot of credit to the performance team, medical team, sports science team and the football team because there is a real togetherness.”
Kennedy was also eager to applaud the 481 Imps fans who made the long journey down to the South Coast.
He continued: “The support was absolutely phenomenal. We want to make a really big effort to connect with the fans.
“We want them to feel that they are us, and we are them. We are all one team, one city and one club. I feel like I will be saying it every week, but I would like to say a huge thank you to them.
“It really does not go unnoticed and I think you can see the appreciation from the players to the staff. It is done from the heart.”
