Mark Kennedy is eager to keep building as City extended their unbeaten run to four matches on Saturday.
The Imps were made to settle for a point against Forest Green Rovers as the sides drew 1-1 at the LNER Stadium.
He said: “We are all judged on winning games but Rome was not built in a day. For me, I can see what we are trying to do which is a positive from the match.”
Jordon Garrick contributed to the Imps’ goal on his debut and Kennedy said that he was pleased to see him adding something different to the team when he came off the bench.
“We brought Jordon Garrick into the club because of his pace and what he can add to us.
“He can stretch the game and gives us an opportunity to play different ways because we want to keep the ball. I thought he was excellent today.”
