TJ Eyoma has said there is fierce competition in the squad and he is ready to fight for his place in the team this season.
Eyoma is eager to kick on this season following his spells on the sideline through injury last season.
He said: “It feels great to be back with the team. I had a couple of injuries last year and hopefully I can play for the full season this time.
“Everyone is training well and there is a lot of competition in the squad, so hopefully I can keep my place in the team and put in some good performances as well.”
With the first two fixtures of the season being so tightly-contested, the 22-year-old has voiced how important the squad’s fitness levels are heading into Tuesday evening’s Carabao Cup tie.
He continued: “I believe that we are definitely a lot fitter since the last time we played Doncaster. In the system we are playing, you have to be fit and have to be able to run.
“Pre-season was tough and we did a lot of running, and I think that is showing in the two games we have played already.”
