Lincoln City FC are thrilled to announce the signing of Morgan Rogers from Manchester City on loan until the end of the season.
The dynamic winger is capable of playing in all three-positions across the front-line and has been capped by England at U15 through to U18 levels.
He started his career at West Bromwich Albion having been with the Baggies since he was 8 years old. He made his first team debut for the West Midlands side against Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Cup, aged just 16. Morgan’s talent was spotted by Manchester City who snapped up the highly rated forward in 2019 and he has continued to impress at the Citizens.
The 18-year-olds loan move to the Imps is the first of his career and he cannot wait to get going under Michael Appleton.
Morgan added, “I’m very happy to have joined this club. I am looking forward to the rest of the season and what it holds for us.”
“The club is great, I like the style of football that the manager plays and I feel being here will help me develop further as a player.”
Morgan was also looking forward to linking up with some familiar faces and added, “I know a few of the lads here like Alex (Palmer), Max (Melbourne) and Brennan (Johnson) and they have told me how much they are enjoying it here.”
“The club are in a good position in the league and we want to keep that momentum going.”
The Imps’ Director of Football, Jez George added, “We are absolutely delighted to have signed Morgan on loan until the end of the season to add to Michael’s options at the top end of the pitch. He is an extremely talented young player, who we have watched for some time, and he will add quality to the group.”
“We initially spoke to Manchester City during the first lockdown and we have been in dialogue with Fergal (Harkin, Football Partnerships & Pathways Manager) and Joe (Shields, Head of Academy Recruitment & Talent Management) ever since. We are really grateful to them for making this possible and look forward to developing our relationship with Manchester City in the future.”
Morgan is available for selection as the Imps face Peterborough United at LNER Stadium this coming Saturday and will wear the number 27 shirt.
The action is live on Sky Sports but a selection of international based supporters can watch the action live on WeAreImps iFollow. More information will be announced in due course.
