Lincoln City were saddened to hear of the loss of former player, Trevor Thompson, who passed away earlier this week aged 66.
The full-back joined the Imps from Newport County in 1979. Thompson had previously played for West Bromwich Albion after joining their youth team, he also spent time in America with Washington Diplomats.
Trevor made a total of 93 appearances for the Imps over a three season spell, scoring one goal against Tranmere Rovers in 1980. City won the Division Four fixture 2-0 with 4,657 supporters in attendance at Sincil Bank.
Thompson went on to play non-league football for Gainsborough Trinity in 1982, before venturing into management with Boston Town for the 1986/87 and 1987//88 seasons.
