Opposition Comments

Ipswich boss Paul Lambert spoke to Ipswich's website ahead of the weekend's fixture. The former Scotland International wants his side to bounce back from a disappointing defeat earlier in the week.

"For the first 30 minutes at Doncaster we were really good, but now it's about the reaction and bouncing back."

"We've analysed it and had a good chat with the guys. We know that we're not going to get our own way all the time. We just have to react.

"There's not an easy game whether you're home or away, even more so without fans. Every game is hard and everyone will want to beat us as well but we're still in good form."

Summer Signings

Ipswich recruited a number of experienced players over the summer including forward Oliver Hawkins who arrived at Portman Road from Portsmouth.

The 28-year-old came up through non-league before getting an opportunity in the Football League with Dagenham & Redbridge in 2015/16. Hawkins then moved to Portsmouth in 2017/18 where he spent three seasons before making the switch to Ipswich this summer.

Experienced left back Stephen Ward has also arrived at the club following a brief spell with Stoke. The 35-year-old made 50 appearances for Ireland between 2011 and 2018.

Loan incomings are Arsenal youngster Mark McGuinness and former Tottenham Hotspur forward Keanan Bennetts who arrives from Borussia Mönchengladbach.
