Remy Howarth was over the moon to play 90 minutes for the Imps as they beat Mansfield Town 3-1 away from home in the EFL Trophy.
“I am buzzing, I loved it, every single minute of it,” said the 23-year-old.
“The performances from everyone tonight showed we enjoyed the game and we will keep going now. We performed well and enjoyed ourselves and we’ve got through to the next round which is rewarding.”
Howarth explained how he has been working hard in training and is pleased to have been given an opportunity this evening.
“It was mint, it was a great opportunity to show the manager what we can do.
“It was difficult, but we have done extra work in training, the first five minutes went fast, and I was used to it again. I enjoyed myself tonight, I should have had a shot but the ball got caught up at my feet.”
Remy went on to discuss how he is enjoying life under Michael Appleton saying: “I am waking up with a smile on my face every day, I am loving it.
“The gaffer is quality and I have learned so much since I have been here, I will continue to do that every day.
“I like the fact the manager develops young players and I don’t think there are many clubs who do it to the extent Lincoln does.”
The Imps number 17 finished by explaining how the atmosphere around the club has created a really good vibe after the opening fixtures.
“We have a great group, everything is so positive I have never been at a club like it, the atmosphere here is great.
"It is a massive opportunity for me, I am really enjoying my time at the club.”
