The Imps return to LNER Stadium this week for Tuesday night football in the Papa John’s Trophy, facing Man City U21 in their third Northern Group E fixture.
City currently sit second in the group having beat Mansfield Town 3-1 in their last Papa John's Trophy game. Jamie Soule, Anthony Scully and Theo Archibald all got on the scoresheet as the Imps picked up three points away from home.
Michael Appleton’s side also picked up points in their first Papa John’s Trophy game this season, with a penalty win over Scunthorpe United at LNER Stadium in September.

Man City’s Elite Development Squad suffered defeat to Southampton in their most recent Premier League 2 fixture with the Saints coming out as 5-2 winners.
However, the Citizens had previously been in good form since their last Papa John’s Trophy game, collecting three Premier League 2 wins in October by beating Arsenal 4-1, Leicester City 4-0 and Everton 2-1.
Enzo Maresca’s side currently sit top of the Northern Group E table following a 4-0 win over Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park. The Sky Blues also kept a clean sheet as they beat Mansfield Town 3-0 with goals from Adrián Bernabé and Liam Delap (brace).
