Following the inception year of Lincoln City’s Shadow Scholarship programme, there are now only a few places left for current dedicated, hard-working U16 players looking to embark on a full time training and education programme at the start of the 2020/2021 season.
Led by UEFA A Licensed coach Richard Belcher, Shadow Scholars will undertake a rigorous coaching programme in tandem with the Academy coaching syllabus, as well as a Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Sport Studies. Students graduating from the programme can put the foundations in place for future education opportunities at university, football scholarships in the USA and potential careers within all aspects of sport.
The Shadow Scholarship programme is based at Riseholme College and makes use of the dedicated Sports and Health Science Centre, part of an £11.5 million second phase development of its Lincolnshire Showground Campus. The state of the art facility includes; a floodlit FIFA-standard all weather 4G pitch, high specification strength and conditioning suite and a multi-use sports hall.
Alongside the outstanding facilities, players will learn more about the demands required to be the best they can be within the sport including performance analysis sessions, nutrition and hydration as well as the chance to shadow club staff within their respective roles across; coaching, sport science and physiotherapy.
The Imps are accepting applications and expressions of interest for the next cohort of Shadow Scholars for the scheme who would start in September 2020. For full details please contact Lincoln City Football Club, via email: lcss@theredimps.com
