200521 Lincoln City Foundation - Here To Help

Lincoln City Foundation have been out helping the local community during the recent weeks and months following the COVID-19 outbreak and they’ve shown their commitment to support the neighbourhood and its residents in its greatest time of need.

During these tough times, communities are being put to the test as they battle, loss of income, isolation and illness. As a charity, Lincoln City Foundation exists to support and inspire the lives of individuals in its communities, many of which fall into the current ‘vulnerable’ category.

As part of a joined-up response, the Foundation are coordinating the Community Response Team for the Sincil Bank area maximising its resources to support the local community and below highlights some of their great work so far!

Our season ticket holders over the age of 65 are being called so we can check in on them and offer our support where it may be needed as many of them will be self isolating alone during these unprecedented times.

The Community Response Team, in partnership with the Lincolnshire Coop food stores and pharmacies, are set up and connect with local households to ensure they receive their essential shopping and prescriptions whilst self-isolating. This service is vital as many vulnerable individuals may not have support networks around them to remain safe and follow the current government guidelines.

The Foundation have been facilitating a virtual coffee morning for their Extra Time Hub members each Wednesday using an online platform. The participant-led meetings offer a chance for members to chat and see one another via video calls, with meetings including activities such as home exercise ideas, quizzes, guest speakers and many other challenges. You can find out more about this great initiative HERE.

Paul Hamnett, Head of Foundation at Lincoln City Foundation said, “Lincoln City care deeply about the community and hope that this service goes a long way to help those currently in greatest need.
