Tayo Edun has praised Lincoln fans for their support before even stepping on the pitch for the Imps. The young midfielder who signed for City from Fulham was in the stands for Lincoln’s 2-1 win over Peterborough United.
Speaking about the atmosphere, Tayo said: “I came up here for the Peterborough game, the biggest thing I noticed was the fan base and that it was great.
“The manager has also played a massive part in the reason I came here because I liked where he wants to take the club.”
The 21-year-old went on to discuss his style of play, explaining how he is looking forward to showing the fans what he can do.
“I have a lot of energy and I like to get on the ball and play football, I want to show off what I can do with the ball.
"I need to get games in, that is something I have missed out on, so I want to catch up with that and get as many games as possible under my belt.
“I would say I’m best suited in central midfield as a box to box player doing both the attacking and defensive duties.”
Edun finished by discussing his time in the England setup where he was part of the 2017 UEFA European Under-19 Championship-winning squad: “I have built my character by working with players who I’d previously not spent a lot of time with. You get to play with some of the best players in the country and learn a lot of different playing styles.
“To do that at such a young age, and to travel all over playing different countries, you learn a lot.”
