200101-Walker

Tyler Walker was delighted at The Imps second win in as many games after getting his name on the scoresheet yet again.

Walker has scored 13 so far in a City shirt but he says that the important thing is that the team keep picking up points, although if he can help contribute to the tally of points by hitting the net then he’ll be more than happy.

“I’m really happy that I’ve scored so many goals, but the main thing is getting the win and the points on the board so I hope I can contribute to that by scoring goals and make sure the points are there for us.

“We’ve had two good games and got six points, that’s the main thing so we’re really happy.”

Tyler touched on the messages from the manager to the players which echo in the players ears as they came from behind to take the points and it’s nice when those instructions and direction from the coaching staff come to fruition.

“We’re trying to get the manager’s messages from training out there onto the pitch and we had been doing well but not getting the results but now they’re coming that bodes well for the future.

“The manager has been asking us, can we show that character to come back and actually win the game if we go behind and obviously we showed that today that we can do that.”

The striker paid tribute to the supporters at LNER Stadium and he’s anticipating a similar atmosphere when The Imps make the trip to the Stadium of Light on Saturday to take on Sunderland.

“The crowd are massive for us, they’re really like a 12th man, they helped us get over the line and we’re playing good football in front of them so we hope they can keep on giving us the support that they are.”
