The Imps secured another set of three points on the road this afternoon with an impressive 2-0 win over Rochdale at Crown Oil Arena.
Michael Appleton’s side remain second in the Sky Bet League One standings, just two points off top after 15 games.
Speaking after the game, the Imps boss said how pleased he was with his side’s performance: “I am delighted, it is always nice to win away from home, but this afternoon it looked like we could have had three or four.
“We dominated and controlled the game; I was very pleased with our second half performance because we were very aggressive in the way we won the ball back.
“We pressed them higher in the second half and that helped us control things, the lads put themselves 10-yards higher up.”
Michael continued by explaining how he looks forward to being able to welcome fans back to LNER Stadium: “We are in tier three so we can’t have them back yet but as soon as we get the green light, we’ll be happy to welcome our loyal fans back.
“We look forward to having the fans back at LNER so they can watch us play, they'll give us a boost.”
The Imps now face Shrewsbury Town in the Papa John’s Trophy on Tuesday night at LNER Stadium. Supporters can watch the action LIVE on WeAreImps iFollow with a match pass, available HERE.
The City boss finished by turning his attention to the match, speaking about the opposition: “They have a very experienced manager in charge and I’m sure that he will do a good job with them. They got a good result today against Charlton.
“We have them three times in the space of five or six weeks now so we will focus on our game going into them matches.
“I think we will make a few changes; we want to win the game and we will take it seriously.”
