Lincoln City Football Club are proud to have three nominations in the 2019 Football Supporters Association awards.

For the second successive year, The Imps’ Supporter Liaison Officer, Alan Long, has been nominated along with the Lady Imps Supporters Association (L.I.S.A).  However, this year there is an additional nominee in this year's FSA Awards as City ‘keeper Josh Vickers is up for the Safe Hands award. This award is presented to the goalkeeper who is voted to have made the best save over the last 12 months.

Alan, has been nominated in the category of Supporter Liaison Officer of the Year along with other nominees from across the EFL and Premier League. The role of Supporter Liaison Officer is to be the conduit between the supporters and the club with the ultimate aim of making the matchday experience as it can be for all supporters, be it supporting The Imps or the visiting side coming to Sincil Bank on a match day.

The Lincoln City SLO team can be found around the ground be it at home or away ahead of kick off, assisting supporters with queries, ticket information and more alongside welcoming visiting supporters straight from the coaches giving them all the information needed from where they can purchase refreshments to how they enter the stadium, where the club shop and ticket office are and generally being a friendly face for any queries supporters may have.

While Alan is nominated, he was quick to note that it’s a team effort and was keen to stress that the nomination is for the whole SLO Team, not just himself.

“It’s an honour to be nominated for a second year, all of the SLO team are proud to be able to help our supporters and help them enjoy their matchday experience. This nomination is testament to the hard work of all our SLO team who do a terrific job for both home and away supporters.”

L.I.S.A have again been nominated in the Fans for Diversity category as they continue to promote and encourage a whole range of supporter diversity to our fan base and in helping with community and club ties.

Josh Vickers has been nominated for his save in the away trip to Rotherham United in August, when at the time there was comparison’s made to Gordon Banks as the City stopper threw out a strong right arm to deny Jamie Proctor who was left with his head in his hands.

The awards take place on Monday 16th December at the Tower of London and you can vote by clicking HERE
