Danny Cowley is looking forward to the final game of the season and is in celebratory mood ahead of the final game of the season against Colchester United this afternoon. However, the focus is on the ninety minutes before The Imps hoist aloft the SkyBet League Two trophy in front of a packed Sincil Bank after the final whistle.

“It’s our final game of the season and you’re only of good as your last game so you have the chance to be brilliant all summer if you win this! We want to win, we remembered what happened at Colchester, how they celebrated at the end of the game down there in October and that helped us. We stayed focused worked hard and we’ve got our moment later today.”

City are without Danny Rowe this afternoon as Danny admitted that his parent club, Ipswich Town, recalled him earlier this week.

“Danny Rowe had an injection in his knee and he was called back by Ipswich Town, so we thank them for loaning him to us, but he’s here today along with Kellan Gordon and Bernard Mensah. All the boys that have been involved that can be here are here, that’s the nature of the group.”

The weather may well play a part in things this afternoon as conditions are very changeable, and Danny says it’s not only the conditions that they are battling.

“We’ll have to play the conditions and they are extreme, we’re going to have to manage those Colchester have some top players and we expected them to be near the top of the division, we thought when the fixtures came out this would be a critical game, it is for them but not for us now but we want three points.”
