Following a season of limited playing opportunities, and with little prospect of that changing in the final year of his contract, James Wilson has left Lincoln City by mutual consent.

James was unable to break up the centre back partnership of Jason Shackell and Michael Bostwick throughout last season, and the arrival of Cian Bolger in January put James further down the pecking order.  With the Imps gaining promotion, and looking to strengthen different areas of the squad in the coming weeks, this decision made sense to all parties and allows James the opportunity to find a Club for the start of pre-season. Also, this move for the defender frees up much needed finance to support other possible opportunities to strengthen the squad.

Everyone at Lincoln City would like to wish James well and thank him for his efforts during his time at Sincil Bank.
