City’s latest capture, Jorge Grant, spoke of his excitement to get out onto the pitch in front of The Imps’ supporters after making a permanent move to Sincil Bank from Nottingham Forest.

The former Forest academy graduate is eager to get started with a club whose rise over the last couple of years was impossible to go unnoticed.

“Obviously I’m delighted to be here, I had spoken to the managers two or three times and they attracted me to the football club. I’ve looked from a distance over the last two or three years how things have gone and (the club) have taken a couple of steps up from where they were, and I’m really excited to be here.” Jorge said.

After spending a few spells away on loan from his former parent club, Jorge admits it’s a nice feeling to be able to call Sincil Bank home and he’s looking forward to pulling on the City shirt in front of the fans.

“Over the last two or three years I’ve not really had the opportunity to show my qualities at Forest and have had a few loans, so I’m looking forward to showing the fans what I can do on the pitch. I remember scoring when I played here previously, it’s a really good place to play. I remember the fans were great that day, so I’m looking forward to playing in front of them.”

After having a taste of League One football with Luton Town at the start of the 2018/19 campaign, the 24 year old says The Imps are just as equipped as the Hatters were to make their mark in the English third tier.

“Yeah, I was there at the start of the season with Luton and they adapted quite well, I see similarities in both Lincoln and Luton, so I’m hopeful that we can make the same step up.”

The Imps take on Jorge’s former club Nottingham Forest in City’s final home pre season game of the summer, on the 29th July, tickets are available via The Imps’ Eventbrite page, HERE or in the ticket office at Sincil Bank
