Harry Toffolo has said that Lincoln City will throw everything they have got going into the last three months of the season to make sure they achieve their objective of promotion.

The 23-year-old said that the Imps are looking forward to this weekend’s clash with Forest Green Rovers and that the players will give their all following Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw against Exeter.

“We will have to be at our best on Saturday and we are looking forward to the game, they were very good when they came to us so we will have to be at our best,” explained Toffolo.

“We will go there looking to win, we know it is the business end of the season and we want to be in the right place come May. We are excited and looking forward to getting the game started this weekend.

“We will throw everything we have got into the last three months of the season because what we have in the dressing room and with the management staff is special.”

The left-back continued by praising the sports science staff at Sincil Bank for their continued hard work keeping City players available for selection come match day.

“There is credit due to the sport science and management staff because they are there to make you feel your best, they do that very well by making the players as fresh as they can be,” explained the former England U20 international.

Speaking about City’s 1-1 draw with Exeter on Tuesday night, Toffolo made it clear that City always play with great team spirit as they try to achieve promotion to League One.

“It was a frustrating night but in the end, we showed the team spirit we have at this football club. All we heard from lads on the sideline was to keep going,” explained the 23-year-old.

“In the last 15 minutes, we took total control of the game and to be honest we could have potentially got another. It was a tough game and we know we can do better so we want to put in a positive performance on Saturday.

“We have been through Tuesday’s game and picked the bad bits out but there are also a lot of positives in there and if we use them effectively we will go to Forest Green and get the result we want.”

Toffolo has made the most appearances for City this season featuring in 40 games in all competitions.

“I have enjoyed the season, but as a team we need to stay mentally and physically strong as we go into the business end of the season,” said the former Norwich City youngster.

The left-back finished by praising team mate Bruno Andrade for his recent form, but also is welcoming a potential return for Harry Anderson, who will once again be available for selection this Saturday following the suspension he picked up against Northampton at the start of the month. But it's that strength in depth which Toffolo says could be crucial going into the final throes of the campaign.

“I'd feel lost without Bruno! He has been phenomenal,” joked Toffolo.

“He has scored six in five and has done very well. But we all know how good Harry has been for Lincoln this season too.

“We now have a big 12 games coming up and will use everyone effectively all the way until the end of the season.”
