Imps Ellis Chapman has today joined National League side Chesterfield FC on loan until the end of the season.
The 18-year-old made his Imps debut in the Checkatrade Trophy against Everton U23 in October 2017 coming on as a substitute for Michael Bostwick.
He was also on the bench as City beat Shrewsbury Town 1-0 at Wembley in the 2017/18 Checkatrade Trophy Final.
Ellis made his league debut in August this season in a 2-1 victory over Bury, and 11 more appearances across the four competitions have followed this campaign.
Delighted to sign for chesterfield for the rest of the season, hopefully will be a good chance and good experience for me⚽️ https://t.co/IJ3Id5fARi

Danny Cowley discussed the move explaining that is is the best thing for Chapman’s development: “The best thing for Ellis was to try and find the right club, the right people and the right manager.
“He has only just turned 18, he is really precious to me. It’s like lending your favourite toy to someone.
“We have done what is best for his development and I have been really picky with who we have sent him to.”
Chapman’s most recent appearance came as a substitute in the Emirates FA Cup tie at Everton.
Ellis will be immediately available for the Spireites as they host FC Halifax Town at the Proact Stadium on Saturday.
