Lincoln City are delighted to welcome Steve Croudson as the club’s new First Team Goalkeeper Coach.
The 39-year-old joins Michael Appleton’s coaching team from Hull City, following a five-year spell as the Tigers’ Head of Academy Goalkeeping.
A former professional footballer for the likes of Scunthorpe United, Grimsby Town and Stevenage, Croudson’s playing career came to an end at 24 following a recurring injury.
Croudson started coaching at Grimsby Town in 2005, before leaving for his role at Hull City in 2014.
The Imps boss is pleased with the recruit of Croudson, who he says came highly recommended following the departure of Andy Warrington.
“Steve is someone who I have known, but not had the pleasure of working with previously,” Michael said.
“He comes highly recommended from everyone we spoke to and I am excited to be working with him moving forward.”
Crousdon initially joined Hull City in the Premier League where had remained ever since until his arrival at LNER Stadium today into his new role with the Imps.
“I am very excited to join. When the opportunity came about it was one I couldn’t turn down,” Croudson said.
“The ambition of the club and speaking with Michael and his desire to succeed was something I was excited to be a part of.
“I really enjoyed meeting with Josh [Vickers] and Grant [Smith] this morning and having our first training session together. We have had a good conversation this morning on how we can help develop them moving forward.”
Croudson's first game in the Lincoln City dugout will be at this weekend's home fixture against Tranmere Rovers. Tickets are on sale here.
