City have today secured the services of former Swansea City defender, Aaron Lewis, on a short-term contract.

The 21-year-old joins The Imps after a successful trial with the club in pre-season, in time to be part of the squad which travels to take on Rotherham United in SkyBet League One.

Aaron started his journey with Swansea City as a nine-year-old joining the Swan’s academy before progressing through the system at the Liberty Stadium, whilst part of the academy the defender won the FAW Youth Cup twice, and signed his first professional contract in 2016. During this time Aaron also developed into a regular in the Welsh international setup, progressing through the age groups at international level, featuring for the Welsh under 19 and under 21’s alongside the likes of Chelsea’s Ethan Ampadu.

Back in action at Swansea, he went on to make his mark in the EFL Trophy in successive seasons, scoring a late winner in a first-round win over Cheltenham in 17/18 and much like his first goal for his former club in the competition a year earlier, his goal against Wimbledon at the start of last season proved to be a last gasp winner.

He made two more appearances for the Swan’s under 21 side before then making a loan move in January 2019 to South Yorkshire, as Aaron spent the latter part of last season on loan with Doncaster Rovers where he made seven appearances in SkyBet League One.

The full-back will wear the number 22 shirt at Sincil Bank.
