Supporters of Lincoln City Football Club are challenging fellow fans and families to turn the city red and white on Sunday 15th September 2019 by joining on the Lincoln 3 Hills Challenge!
The Lady Imps Supporters Association have teamed up with the Fans Player Scheme to create a unique event, walking around some less trodden parts of our city while also exploring our familiar historical features. This will be a family event encouraging Imps in their football shirts to fill and explore our beautiful city whilst promoting health, fitness and wellbeing.
During the day participants will walk 5k at their own pace along a mapped route taking in a 1,000 ft vertical along the way – our own version of the three peaks challenge!
There’s a quiz to complete as you go and stickers to collect at the three summits!
The walk is a non-timed event, so people can register anytime from 9.30am – 1pm, take as long as they like, stopping for a coffee, a picnic or other refreshment! Base camp will close at 3pm.
Stokes of Lincoln have kindly offered space at The Lawn complex to use as Base camp. They will also provide a pop-up coffee bar for refreshments and donate a percentage of the proceeds to the chosen beneficiaries. Running Imp are helping us with a start/finish line and are providing medals for children that complete the walk.
There will also be support for people in need as at the event there will be a collection point for participants to donate non-perishable food items to the Lincoln foodbank. The FPS and 617 Squadron have joined forces to champion this cause and we know how generous Imps are.
To register for the event click HERE and this must be completed before the event. There is a request for a minimum donation of £8 per family (2 adults and up to 3 children)
On the day donations:
Family - £10 on the day
Adults £4,
Children £2
At registration entrants will receive a map of the route upon registration including quiz questions to complete along the way, a medal will be awarded to children on completion of the walk.
All proceeds are going to the Lincoln City Foundation and in support of Lincoln City Women FC.
Please contact Nicky Dring & Jackie Atkins via email: ladyimps@mail.com also on Facebook & @LadyImps on Twitter
Please note* this is not a guided walk and participants are asked to ensure they pay attention on the public paths and roads, using controlled crossings where available. The event is undertaken at your own risk and a reasonable level of mobility and fitness is required although we feel it’s suitable for primary school age children upwards (if they can walk for an hour or so/5K).
The event has been approved by the Safety Advisory Group at Lincoln City Council.
