The Imps last hosted Saturday's opponents MK Dons in April 2008, with the visitors running out 2-1 victors in front of just under 4,000 fans at Sincil Bank.
It was the first campaign in six years where the Imps finished outside of the play-offs.
Following a difficult start to the season, Peter Jackson was appointed and steered the Imps towards a mid-table finish.
