Lincoln City FC are delighted to be raising NHS Organ Donation awareness with Save9Lives this season.

Save9Lives is a campaign run by Jim Lynskey, a passionate football fan who is awaiting a heart transplant. The campaign works closely with NHS Blood and Transplant, advocating their message that one organ donor can save or enhance up to 9 lives.

Speaking on BBC Radio Lincolnshire this week, Jim, Save9Lives’ founder, stated: “The club have been excellent and I’m really grateful for the opportunity to pair the campaign with the match v CrawleyTown this weekend”.

It was recently revealed that only 35% of Lincolnshire are thought to be signed up as an organ donor. Jim is hopeful that more people will consider the subject after today’s game, and discuss their respected decisions with loved ones, too, so that wishes can be carried out.

“We’re hoping to raise an important message amongst the Imps’ fans”.

Jim is not alone raising awareness, with many Imps fans and Lincoln locals expressing the importance of considering organ donation. Advocates will be situated outside the ground on Saturday, before forming a guard of honour as the players emerge from the tunnel at 3pm.
