We are delighted to announce that Player of the Season Neal Eardley has extended his contract with the Imps until the summer of 2020.
Eardley arrived at Sincil Bank at the beginning of the 2017/18 season following a successful trial period, and has been an ever-present in City’s Checkatrade Trophy triumph and play-off finish in Sky Bet League Two.
Being part of a defensive line that has kept 15 league clean sheets upon return to the EFL, scoring once, and numerous assists with his trademark crosses from the right hand side, Eardley has also featured 54 times this season for the Imps.
Danny Cowley is thrilled to be able to extend the deal for the former Welsh intertaional.
“Neal has had a brilliant season, he’s brought a wealth of experience, he’s technically excellent and has been such a consistentt performer,” Cowley said.
“We’re delighted to be able to extend his contract, it’s something we’ve been really motivated to do since January. It’s taken a bit of time, but there’s always been a real motivation from both parties to make it happen.”
The Imps boss was full of praise for Neal’s hard work and dedication, but also to the supporters who he believes have made the full-back feel at home since his arrival.
“The supporters and the way that they have taken Neal to their hearts and the way they have supported him has played a big part in the extension,” he added.
“He’s just a top, top player. He’s played right at the highest level of the game, and you can see that with the way he conducts himself and works on the training pitch.”
Come and watch Eardley and his team mates in action next season. Season Ticket renewals are available until Friday, 25th May HERE.
