We are pleased to announce the signing of attacker, Tom Pett from Stevenage.

The 26 year old joins The Imps after just over three years at the Lamex Stadium, and he has signed a two and a half year contract with the club and becomes the sixth player City have added to the first team squad in January.

Pett has featured over 150 times for his former club and scored 22 goals in the process after joining Stevenage from Non League football. Pett has netted seven goals so far this season with the last of those coming when he hit a brace against Cheltenham Town on New Years Day, and he featured as a substitute in their visit to Sincil Bank

Pett started his career with Potters Bar before moving to Wealdstone in 2012, his goalscoring and impressive appearances for The Stones attracted the eyes of a host of EFL clubs, due to his record of 20 goals in 100 appearances.

Pett made his debut in August 2014 for Stevenage against Hartlepool United and has been a mainstay in their matchday squad ever since, he scored eight goals in his first season with The Borough including one in their League Two playoff semi final against Southend United. This season Pett has featured twice against City, he started the game against The Imps in early September 2017 at the Lamex Stadium and came on as a second half substitute in the game at Sincil Bank on Boxing Day.

Pett is delighted to be joining the Imps and is eager to show the fans what he's capable of.

“I can’t wait, I saw the game last night, it gave me a taste of what’s to come. I can’t wait to get to the training ground, meet all the lads and kick on this Saturday with three points.” He said.

Pett revealed the prospect of playing in front of the Sincil Bank crowd was something that was a huge reason for him making the move to the club.

“The crowd are not quiet, which is massive for a player, it’s one of the main things when I heard Lincoln were interested in me. I remember coming here around Christmas time and the crowd were loud and worked as the twelfth man, I know it’s a cliché but it really does (make a difference). That was massive in my decision in coming here, I want to play in front of big crowds here and the followings when we go away from home.”
