We are pleased to announce the signing of goalkeeper Josh Vickers on a two-year deal.
Josh (21) joins the Imps from Swansea City following the conclusion of his contract with the Premier League club.
Having come through the youth ranks at Arsenal, the Basildon-born stopper had a loan spell at Canvey Island during the 2013/14 season. He then linked up with the Cowleys at Concord Rangers for a loan spell during the 2014/15 campaign.
At the end of the season he joined Swansea on a two-year deal and spent last season on loan at Barnet, where he made 23 appearances.
"Josh is someone we know really well and is a fantastic young goalkeeper," said manager Danny Cowley.
"We had him at Concord Rangers on loan from Arsenal when he was just 18 years of age and he had an incredible season for us.
"For such a young goalkeeper he's got maturity and emotional intelligence and on the pitch he is an unbelievable shot-stopper with good distribution. His arrival means we've got three very good goalkeepers at our disposal.
"Richard Walton will be joining Gainsbourough Trinity on a season-long which will definitely benefit him as at this stage of his career he needs to be playing week in, week out and that will be a great level for him to learn his trade
"That leaves us with Josh and Paul Farman, who welcomes the competition. They will now fight it out for the number one spot. That’s what we want in all positions - competition.
"Goalkeepers always have a fantastic relationship even though they’re always competing against each other and no doubt they will build their relationship over the coming weeks. They will also be in good hands with Jimmy Walker looking after them."
Josh's contract will commence on 1 July 2017 with his registration being subject to international clearance.
