Wright Signs On For Season

Manager Gary Simpson has bolstered his strike force with the acquisition of Nick Wright on a one-year contract.

Wright, who was part of Mansfield Town's title-winning squad last season, started his career as a youngster with Birmingham City but failed to make the breakthough into the Blues' first team, although he did gain experience on loan with Tamworth, Bristol City and Northampton Town.

A striker who can also play on the wing, Wright joined Halesowen Town on leaving Birmingham before returning to Tamworth in 2007, going on to become a regular on the scoresheet as he helped the Lambs to the Conference North title in 2008/09.

His prolific form continued during a two-year stay with Kidderminster Harriers with the 25-year-old finishing the 2011/12 campaign as their top scorer but his solitary season with Mansfield saw his appearances limited to substitute outings, with the 25-year-old starting just four league games.
