We are delighted to announce that second year scholar Jordan Thomas has today agreed terms on a two-year professional contract.
The youngest player to feature for the Imps in first team competitive football when he came on as a substitute in a home game against Mansfield Town 12 months ago, Thomas has been in prolific form for the youth team this season, with his midweek brace at Ilkeston taking his FA Youth Cup tally to nine in three games.
The Grantham-born striker worked his way through the Centre of Excellence since he joined five years ago and follows Conner Robinson in becoming the second scholar to agree professional terms this season.
Thomas (17) will officially put pen-to-paper on his contract at 2.30pm on Saturday prior to the FA Cup with Budweiser Fourth Qualifying Round tie against FC Halifax Town at The 12th Imp Sincil Bank Stadium. Supporters inside the stadium at that time will be able to congratulate the teenager as he embarks on his professional career.
"I'm delighted to project another young player to professional ranks," said manager David Holdsworth.
"Jordan has progressed well and we all hope he can develop alongside the other young players at our club."
