Boardroom Blog #8

The latest Boardroom Blog focusses on a new project which will be run by the Club’s community arm, LCFC Sport & Education Trust.

As recently announced, Lincoln City FC Sport & Education Trust (LCFCSET) has recently been awarded £332,000 from the Big Lottery to deliver a brand new project - IMPowerment for All.

The project will be delivered over three years and will reach out to almost 6,000 participants in Lincolnshire who have physical and mental health issues. The project will be delivered in Special Education Needs schools, Multi Activity Evening clubs and Mental Health units, and in some cases will lead to Sports Leaders UK qualifications.

LCFCSET already has a proven track record in delivering disability projects and has worked with local authorities in Lincolnshire and the Football Foundation to provide sports based programmes to the less-abled and to people with mental health issues.

This is the biggest community project yet that the Club has become involved in and the award of the funding is testament to the past success of the Club in working in the community and providing coaching across a wide range of sports.

LCFCSET regularly provides coaching within participating schools in Lincolnshire and also delivers programmes on behalf of Lincolnshire based companies.

City director and Chairman of LCFCSET Kevin Cooke commented: "I am really pleased that LCFCSET has been successful in securing this funding as it will allow the Club to continue its good work in the community and deliver benefits to those that need it the most.

"Richard Cooper and his team have done a fantastic job in winning this bid and I'm sure, based on past experience, they will do an even better job in delivering the project."

LCFCSET is an independent registered charity, formed by the Club to run it’s community programme. It is also the Club’s Charity of the Year. For more information visit www.lcfcset.com
