Ash Foyle was pleased with the performance of his U18 side as they battled hard against league leaders Hartlepool Town.
Zane Okoro continued his impressive form by scoring his third goal in two games, helping City secure a draw against a strong Hartlepool side despite trailing at half-time.
Head coach Foyle was delighted with his team’s performance, especially against high quality opposition.
He said: “Hartlepool are a very capable side, but it was a really hard fought game. We come away disappointed that we didn’t score at least three or four more looking at the chances we created.
“We edged the game with plenty of chances created but we just lacked a little bit of quality and luck around the box.”
In particular, Foyle was pleased with the Imps’ defensive work in the late stages of the game and the maturity the team showed.
He added: “We showed a good amount of resilience and character when under pressure in the final stages of the game, which is a big step forward for us.”
