Ash Foyle was proud of his side’s performance following an extra-time defeat in the third round of the FA Youth Cup.
Bailey Adamson equalised from the penalty spot to force the game into extra-time, but it was not enough to secure a place in the fourth round with the Tykes scoring the winner in the 113th minute.
Foyle said: “The lads have done themselves, the club and everybody associated really proud.
"We always knew it was going to be a tough challenge and a big ask but we had full belief we could certainly make a game of it.
“It was a very cagey cup game that was always going to depend on a bit of magic or a mistake and they’ve managed to find that last little bit right at the end.”
Foyle was also pleased with the way his side implemented his game plan.
He added: “Our lads executed the plan really well. As a coach, all you ask is for them to take on board the pointers you give them.
“It’s a shame we didn’t take our chances because we probably created the better ones in the game, but that’s the cruelty of football I’m afraid.”
