Bailey Adamson is thrilled to score a hat-trick to see his side through to the Floodlit Cup final.
The striker found the net with three confident finishes at the LNER Stadium as the young Imps beat Bolton Wanderers U17 on Wednesday evening.
He said: “I am absolutely buzzing. I thought I was going to score coming into the game because of the confidence I have.
“It is amazing to get to the final and I am really looking forward to it, especially with all the fans that got behind us against Bolton.”
City U17 were pegged back by the visitors midway through the second half, and Adamson has praised his side’s concentration levels to stay focused and go back in front.
He added: “You have got to concentrate throughout the game. When it got to 1-1 we just needed to keep going.
“I am proud of the team who lifted themselves up after going level, especially to score the goals and get the momentum going again.”
The young Imps will face either Luton Town or Swindon Town in the final.
