Ted Bishop is impressed with City’s new striking dynamic after Freddie Draper and Joe Taylor caught the eye against Derby County at the LNER Stadium.
The new recruits have struck a threatening partnership for the Imps and Bishop believes this will be a huge benefit for City moving forwards.
Bishop said: “I think we carry a real threat now. We have new bodies in the building, a new dynamic up front and I think on another day we could have taken three points against Derby.
“It’s scary because the strikers have only been playing together for a week so if they can strike up a partnership, they could be really effective for us.
“I had no idea Joe was that quick, and on another day, he could have had a couple of goals. Freddie has come back a completely different player too. His touch has improved, he’s fitter and he’s filled into his body so I think he can be a really important player for us.”
The City midfielder was also full of praise for Michael Skubala following the trust the head coach has placed in him since his return to fitness.
He added: “I can’t thank Michael enough because as soon as I returned to fitness, he put me back in the midfield straight away which is where I love playing.
“He’s been great with me so far and I think now we’re starting to see those patterns of play he has had us working on. We have a really good base and that gives us something to build on going forward."
