Michael Skubala has been impressed by the togetherness displayed by the squad after recording a fifth match unbeaten.
City's head coach is pleased with the hard work from the group as they prepare for a midweek trip to the capital.
He said: "The mood is really good and I’m pleased with how the lads train everyday.
"We push them a lot and try to get the most out of them. They work hard and we have a real togetherness. People are prepared to run and fight for each other and when they are playing for the shirt and for each other, and that is really powerful."
City will face Charlton Athletic at The Valley on Tuesday and Skubala is expecting a stern test from Nathan Jones’ side.
He added: "I think we have some insight information via Chris Cohen so there is a bit of understanding there, but Nathan Jones is in a new role and working with new players so to some degree they have the upper hand of surprise.
"It will be a very tough game; they have a really experienced coach who has his first home match, but at the end of the day the players play the game so it will come down to how well we can execute our game plan.
"We will respect everybody but fear nobody and we just need to focus on ourselves and not get too caught up with other teams."
