Oisin Gallagher is hoping he can learn and grow from his first start for the Imps against Derby County.
The young Irish midfielder was named in Mark Kennedy’s starting XI for the first time against the Rams in their first EFL Trophy group game.
Gallagher said: “I think I did decently for my standards, but you can always get better and always find things to work on in my game.
“I’ll just take this in my stride, keep working, and see what happens.”
It was a special moment for Gallagher against Derby, with the midfielder impressing on his debut.
He added: “Obviously I’m very proud.
“It’s a proud moment for me and my family, and to finally get it over the line has been excellent - I’ve really enjoyed it.”
